This post is so late!

I had a really busy 4 day weekend over Easter and didn’t have time to do anything, I haven’t posted, haven’t blog hopped, haven’t commented, I haven’t even read *gasp*  But anyway, I wanted to say…..

Happy Belated Easter!

I’ll start off with a little egg humour……

We had our usual family dinner which was delish and then my son and I ate our own weight in Easter eggs!

On the reading front, I thought I was getting my groove back but now I really don’t know…….I just don’t know what is wrong with me.  I’m praying it comes back soon!

1 book.  Just 1 book…..but what a great read!

Well I did sign up for 1 to 30 books but I think I may best this by June as I’ve been flying through those new releases (due to the fact I suffer with the sickness called ‘not saying no to arcs’!!)

My ‘most loved’ shelf!

These are the books I have fallen in love with! From their pretty covers to the words inside! Sometimes I just gaze at them and remember the beauty that was reading them!!!

Sometimes I wonder how everyone else sets up their shelves…..I have

• My guilty pleasures shelf

Do you believe in ‘the need to read’?

Do you find the need to read comes at the most inopportune times?

No, this isn’t a commercial! But read on!

I find that I suffer with the need to read often!

• I’m waiting for my son to get ready to go shopping. I flick open my book and I’m a chapter in and I have to close it. But I don’t want to!
• Its past 12 at night and I have to go to work the next day. And I have to force myself to close my book to sleep….
• I’m at my sons swimming lesson and promise myself I’ll talk to the other mums to not appear rude…..but the need to read is strong (sometimes stronger!)
• Sat in work and all of a sudden the pull of my book is too much to bear….but I have to squash it down as I have work to do (and the fact they pay me to actually work and not read!!)
• I get up and have to get ready for work….but the need to read makes me read 1 chapter….that turns into 4 and I have to rush around to get ready!

Is this an affliction all bookworms suffer with?

Nearly the 5th month of the year….where is the time going?

I think it’s fair to say that I am going to be totally broke in May! I mean who needs to be saving for spending money for a holiday?

Finale by Stephanie Garber – we are so close to release! I loved Caraval and Legendary and I NEED this book, yes NEED!

Rage by Cora Carmack – I love this woman, she is just so lovely…..and Roar made my heart sing so I predict this is going to be fabulous!

Quiet Man by Kristen Ashley – Sigh….the Dream Man series! It seems that on 13 August, Mo will be joining in the ranks of Tack, Hawk, Brock and Mitch! Deep down in my bones I feel this will be a 5 star read!

Skyward rocked my life! I didn’t know if I was a sci-fi reader but I found I really was! I cannot wait until 12 November…and you can pre-order here

Crescent City by Sarah J Maas

I think the publication date is 30 November (correct me if I am wrong!) I have read that it’s an adult fantasy series featuring a brand new mythical world where humans struggle with survival and hierarchies of the magical creatures they live among. I just think of her writing and a 5 star rating pops in my head!

*update – I’ve just seen this is due for release in January 2020 but I still wanted to keep it on!!*

Finally, yes finally I have read book 1 in this series!

And it was fabulous.

And I’ve found my new bbf, The Darkling!

Here comes the slap for waiting to read this for so long! I was mesmerised!

And…..I was totally in love with The Darkling…..

Yes I know, he is evil, he is dangerous and shows no mercy. But I still love him!

Welcome to The Weekly Epilogue!

Hope you all had a good week?

First week of Easter school holidays. I had to work but my son has been having a great time going to adventure parks with his friends! I have this coming week off and I am so happy!!!

I also had a Dexa scan to see if celiac disease has ruined my bones…..no results yet but am crossing my fingers that all is ok.

Also…..you know when your just not feeling it and need to do a reread? Well I was there!

I’m reading an actual paperback. I normally read via ebook but am loving this!

So I said no monthly lists, but I just couldn’t help myself! I really need to stop this to try and get back to not feeling pressured!

I too have seen what the effects of waste has been doing to ocean animals and it needs to stop.  I fully recycle at home and my office has also changed to full recycling plus our in house Costa has got rid of disposable cups and since January, we bring our own.

My Guilty Pleasures Shelf!!!

Yes I have a guilty pleasures shelf!

But look how lovely they look!

And look at Ariel up there all comfy sat on Edward Cullen!

 

This is going to be quite a short post and I am sure some of you will roll your eyes about the fact I have the Fifty Shades of Grey and the Twilight series displayed but…….

When these 2 series came out years ago, I absolutely loved them!  In a way they sort of saved my sanity.  It was a shit time for me at that point.

I think displaying these books are a reminder to me of the feeling I had when I grabbed back that love of reading, I needed something and these series gave me that bit if escapism.  Sometimes I look at them displayed and remember the absolutely heart warming feeling of the love of the written word.

Saying that I’m not sure if I could say the same thing now if I did a reread now…but who knows, one day!!
