Hi everyone, hope you’ve had a good week?

I’m going on holiday tomorrow! Haven’t been on holiday since the year before the pandemic started so am really looking forward to spending some quality time with my family away from the humdrum of normal life!

I’ve scheduled in some posts today for the coming week but I don’t know how much time I’ll be able to spend blog hopping/commenting but I will try my best!

It’s been so hot here this week that I couldn’t concentrate on much so only 1 book read and an audiobook listened to!

What have you read lately?

Firstly….please don’t hate me!

CHRISTMAS IN JULY!!!

I’m a certified Christmas nut! I mean it’s the most magical time of the year and whilst I don’t put deccies up or swap gifts etc in July, I want to remember the magic…..but put a Summer twist on it!

Here are some food and drink type things I thought I might try out……and you could too!

---

That great Summermas drink, chocolate milkshake instead of hot chocolate!

Here’s a lovely recipe:

---

BBQ turkey but have with salad and corn and maybe a cheeky cheese platter wreath?

---

Candy cane cocktails or maybe a cranberry marg?!

---

Santa Strawberries – strawberries with squirty cream on the top (and then eat them!)

Really the possibilities are endless!

What food can you think of to eat in summer….but add a Christmas twist?!

It’s that time of year when I choose my reads to take on holiday!

I’m actually excited about this as we haven’t been on holiday for over 2 years because of the dreaded c word.

To make up for our 2 years of no holidays we’ve splashed out and are having 2 this year, one next week and another at the end of August!

I’ve gone through my, frankly huge, tbr and picked out some books for next week and cross fingers I’ll actually get to read between all the swimming, eating and activities!!!

I’ve gone for all romance books, not quite sure why (and Book Lovers is a reread!)

What books are on your holiday read list?

Title: Heat Wave

Series: The Extraordinaires #3

Author: TJ Klune

Nick, Seth, Gibby, and Jazz are back in action bringing justice, protection, and disaster energy to the people of Nova City.

An unexpected hero returns to Nova City and crash lands into Nick’s home, upturning his life, his family, and his understanding of what it means to be a hero in the explosive finale of the thrilling and hilarious Extraordinaries trilogy by New York Times bestselling author TJ Klune.

Omg how I love this series, I don’t want it to end ever!!! Can I just say that the narrator, Michael Lesley, is a genius!

Nicky, Seth, Gibby, Jazz and their parental units. Back with the Lighthouse crew!

I will say first of all that this book felt different from the others, still funny but this was a bit more serious I guess. There was something up, Nicky could feel it, I thought I’d guessed it but I was wrong!!!

There were still moments that made me laugh out loud, the shop door part, the enema part, the wedding. And also Burrito Jerry is my hero! Full of action, humour and revelations, this was a superb conclusion!

I have to say that even though I absolutely love Nicky, Gibby is my utter fave. She is sarcastic and cutting and everything that is right with the world!

Oh bittersweet. The end. It was perfect.

Top Ten Tuesday is featured by That Artsy Reader Girl. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Topic: Freebie!

I’ve done different types of bookish merch so thought I’d look waaaaay forward to 2023 and see what books are releasing that I probably want to get!

I know release dates are a bit unstable at the moment and some of these haven’t even got release dates and they don’t even have covers (so I’ll entertain you with some others in the series/by the authors!)

Defiant by Brandon Sanderson – 16 March 2023
In the Lives of Puppets by TJ Klune – 28 March 2023

Hi everyone, hope you’ve had a good week?

You might have noticed that my website disappeared for a week! All is now sorted so I can now stop stressing!

It’s been a busy week at work and also my son had 3 end of school events so it’s been a rush to say the least but I did manage to wind down with 2 reads, 2 audiobooks and a reread (Zodiac Academy book 1!!!)

Title: Becoming His Monster

Series: Playing with Monsters #3

Author: Amelia Hutchins

Sacrifice your soul?
Check.
Die to protect those you love?
Check.
Come back as something the world hasn’t seen since the dawn of mankind?
Check.
Make those who hurt me wish the Gods had never created them?
I’m still working on this one…
Are you ready to play? I’m coming back. I’m more, darker, deadlier, and I’m pissed.
Heaven has fallen, Hell has risen and the walls that once protected man from monsters are down. Foe’s become friends, enemies become lovers, and this world is thrown into chaos unlike anything it’s ever seen before. I’m ready to play now, I’m ready to win.

It’s taken me a while but I’ve got here!

For the first time ever I thought I’d listen to an Amelia book and LOVED it! Can totally recommend the audio! I must admit I was a bit confused in the beginning about what was going on. Maybe I should have done a skim read of the last book to remind myself of details!

So we know what Lena sacrificed at the end of the last book (heartbreaking!) and now Lucifer and his creatures are free. So what would happen next? (I won’t tell!!!)

I really didn’t gel with the new Lena and that made me sad after what she had been through, she got right on my wick but I did like that she makes Lucian work for it! Poor old Lucian (he’s my fave!)

Loved seeing Synthia, Ryder, Ristan and Spyder! I vote myself as tribute for Spyder’s HEA!!!!

Another cliffy, but not so brutal but jaw dropping…..there will be trouble ahead! And I still don’t know what Lucian is!
