Books I want releasing February 2022!

I made a promise to myself that I’d really cutback on my book buying this year for a few reasons:

✔ I’m running out space,
✔ My tbr has never been bigger than it is right now,
✔ I’m trying to save some money.

I don’t want to put a limit of the number of books I buy each month as it’s like a red rag to a bull and I spend, spend, spend so I’m going to try and put willpower in place (wish me luck!!!)

So for February I’ve chosen one book! I’ve already preordered it too so I could enter to get the preorder goodies!

House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas

Review: Glint by Raven Kennedy

Title: Glint

Series: Plated Prisoner #2

Author: Raven Kennedy

“You want to make your life easier? Then be the caged bird that you are and sing.”

For ten years, I’ve lived in a gilded cage inside King Midas’s golden castle. But one night changed everything.

Now I’m here, a prisoner of Fourth Kingdom’s army, and I’m not sure if I’m going to make it out of this in one piece. They’re marching to battle, and I’m the bargaining chip that will either douse the fire or spark a war.

At the heart of my fear, my worry, there’s him—Commander Rip.

Known for his brutality on the battlefield, his viciousness is unsurpassed. But I know the truth about what he is.

Fae.

The betrayers. The murderers. The ones who nearly destroyed Orea, wiping out Seventh Kingdom in the process. Rip has power sizzling beneath this skin and glinting spikes down his spine. But his eyes—his eyes are the most compelling of all.

When he turns those black eyes on me, I feel captive for an entirely different reason.

I may be out of my cage, but I’m not free, not even close. In the game of kings and armies, I’m the gilded pawn. The question is, can I out maneuver them?

‘Sometimes, things need first to be ruined in order to then be remade.’

To say I inhaled this book is an understatement. I read it in something like 3 hours. Devoured. Couldn’t get enough!

It wasn’t just good it was fan.flamin.tastic!

So anyway!!!! Auren is captured along with the other saddles and soldiers by the pirate Reds and then bought by Commander Rip and they make their way to where Midas is now to bargain with (and a bit of war thrown in!)

We are introduced to the Wrath. To more of Rip. To more of Auren. To Rot. I’m not saying anymore!

Those bombshells at the end. Jaw drop. There’s no way I’m not moving onto that next book immediately! I’m so invested in this story!

🎧 Review: Flash Fire by TJ Klune

Title: Flash Fire

Series: The Extraordinaires #2

Author: TJ Klune

Nick landed himself the superhero boyfriend of his dreams, but with new heroes arriving in Nova City it’s up to Nick and his friends to determine who is virtuous and who is villainous. Which is a lot to handle for a guy who just wants to finish his self-insert bakery AU fanfic.

I absolutely cannot get enough of this series!

Omg. This book. THIS BOOK!

I had tears rolling down my face again. The scene, the ‘education’ scene with Nick’s Dad and Seth’s uncle and aunt. I was roaring.

Nick and Seth are a couple and Nick is just as wild as before. I love him. There’s more antics, drama, a lot of laughs and a heck of a story.

Omg. That ending. THAT ENDING!!!!!! I had chills, I screamed!

As I said in my review for book 1, I feel my review can’t do this book justice, so this is it. Apart from…….Team Lighthouse forever!

The Answer Can’t Be Books Tag!

My 1st tag of the year!

I can’t remember where I saw this tag so many, many apologies to whoever created ❤ If you want to comment below then I can amend my post!

ANSWER CAN’T BE BOOKS TAG

So…..as the title suggests, the answers to the questions below cannot be books!!!

What is something that you own way too many of, other than books?

Candles! I know it’s to do with books but it’s not books so it counts!!!! Anyway, I have an obsession with buying a candle to go with physical books I own. And it’s obvious that I have a candle buying problem!!!

What is something that you do for fun that’s not reading a book?

Gaming. I love playing on Roblox or on my sons xbox! I get lost for hours playing them and it’s something I do with my son although he is getting to the age where we like different games now!

What is something special or important on your nightstand, that’s not a book?

A photo of me and my son. It was his 1st birthday and he is smiling so big and I love it!

What’s something that you buy at a bookstore other than books?

A coffee in their coffee shop (when I’m buying books!!!) OK. I’m not really that good at this I know!!!!

What’s a fun gift that you’ve received that wasn’t a book or a gift card for books?

Clothes, always clothes!

What’s a You Tube channel you watch not related to books?

I love watching Roman Atwood. Have watched him religiously for about 9 years. Love him and his family! Smile More!!!

Tag five BookTubers that you want to learn more about.

Omg I don’t know of any apart from Kristin Kraves Books! She is amazing, go drop her a subscribe!

🎧 Review: The Extraordinaires by TJ Klune

Title: The Extraordinaires

Series: The Extraordinaires #1

Author: TJ Klune

Some people are extraordinary. Some are just extra. TJ Klune’s YA debut, The Extraordinaries, is a queer coming-of-age story about a fanboy with ADHD and the heroes he loves.

Nick Bell? Not extraordinary. But being the most popular fanfiction writer in the Extraordinaries fandom is a superpower, right?

After a chance encounter with Shadow Star, Nova City’s mightiest hero (and Nick’s biggest crush), Nick sets out to make himself extraordinary. And he’ll do it with or without the reluctant help of Seth Gray, Nick’s best friend (and maybe the love of his life).

Amazing,
Fun,
Fabulous,
Humorous,
And written by a genius.

This was so good, I listened to the audio and the
narrator was fabulous!

Nick is a fanfiction writer who is basically obsessed with the superheroes, The Extraordinaires, who fight crime (and each other!) where he lives and Nick decides he needs super powers after being attacked so gets his friends to help.

What follows had me laughing all the way through this. There was a few points where I had to pause this because I tears rolling down my face from laughing so much!

Nick is someone I love. I want to know him in real life although he’d probably tire me out with his constant dialogue! His little group of friends made me smile a lot, utterly fabulous!

I can’t seem to form the words to say how much I loved this. But I am diving straight into book 2!!!
