It’s an accessibility feature for screenreader users, and visually impaired users, because screenreaders are not able to read images. So basically, if you have a book cover, and you put a text in the image, it’s will be picked up by screenreaders so people with visual impairments know what the image is about. Otherwise, a written list in addition to the picture collage itself is fine as well. Just images only is not accessible for people using screenreaders.
