Happy Thanksgiving!

We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here in the UK but I just wanted to pass on my wishes for a happy day to all of you that do!

Also hope you have your turkey pants on……

I am always in awe at the pictures of Thanksgiving food that friends share with me and also totally jealous!!!!

What dishes do you make for Thanksgiving, I’d love to give them a try (but I’ll have to substitute any wheat, barley or rye!)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

  1. Our favorite family recipe is a “cranberry salad,” because cranberry sauce is kind of meh. Ingredients include cranberries, whipping cream, marshmallows, bananas, crushed pineapple, and maybe one or two other things I can’t recall right now? It’s somewhere between a side dish and a dessert and is insanely good.

Otherwise our Thanksgiving fare is very standard: turkey, mashed potatoes (topped with paprika), gravy, green beans (with olive oil and topped with a little shredded parmesan), baked sweet potatoes (no fancy casserole or anything), and stuffing. And then homemade pie for dessert–this year we had a pumpkin pie and a cheesecake.

  2. My sister has made a spinach soufflé for a side the past few years. It is my new favorite! This year we also smoked a turkey and made a pecan pie cobbler instead of a typical pecan pie. So much food! Thanks for the well wishes!
