Select Me Saturday – pick my next read!

Lately I have found myself in the mother of all slumps so I know I needed to do something about it…..so I made a list….a list of all the books I have on my tbr!

It’s an old skool written list and I am in love with it and not sure why I haven’t done this sooner…..and this is where I need your help!

Pick for me!!!

Which of the 3 books below should I read next week?

The book with the most mentions in comments is the one I will read….

Valiant by Holly Black

When Valerie Russell runs away to New York City, she’s trying to escape a life that has utterly betrayed her. Taking on a new identity, she seeks refuge with a gang of squatters who live in the city’s labyrinthine subway system.

But there’s something eerily beguiling about Val’s new friends … Lolli talks of monsters in the subway tunnels and uses a shimmery amber-coloured powder that makes the shadows around her dance. While Luis claims he can make deals with creatures that no one else can see. And when Luis’s brother, Dave, makes the mistake of letting Val tag along as he makes a delivery to a woman who turns out to have goat hooves instead of feet, Val knows that there’s magic at play in the subway tunnels…

A bewildered Val allows Lolli to talk her into tracking down the hidden lair of the creature for whom Luis and Dave have been working, only to find herself bound into service by a troll named Ravus. He is as hideous as he is honourable, and as Val grows to know him, she finds herself torn between affection for him and fear of what her new friends are becoming because of him…

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

Enter the Grishaverse with book two of the Shadow and Bone Trilogy

Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning

MacKayla Lane’s life is good. She has great friends, a decent job, and a car that breaks down only every other week or so. In other words, she’s your perfectly ordinary twenty-first-century woman. Or so she thinks . . . until something extraordinary happens.

When her sister is murdered, leaving a single clue to her death—a cryptic message on Mac’s cell phone—Mac journeys to Ireland in search of answers. The quest to find her sister’s killer draws her into a shadowy realm where nothing is as it seems, where good and evil wear the same treacherously seductive mask. She is soon faced with an even greater challenge: staying alive long enough to learn how to handle a power she had no idea she possessed–a gift that allows her to see beyond the world of man, into the dangerous realm of the Fae. . . .

As Mac delves deeper into the mystery of her sister’s death, her every move is shadowed by the dark, mysterious Jericho, a man with no past and only mockery for a future. As she begins to close in on the truth, the ruthless Vlane—an alpha Fae who makes sex an addiction for human women–closes in on her. And as the boundary between worlds begins to crumble, Mac’s true mission becomes clear: find the elusive Sinsar Dubh before someone else claims the all-powerful Dark Book—because whoever gets to it first holds nothing less than complete control of the very fabric of both worlds in their hands. . .
