The other day my friend and I were talking and she was unhappy with how many books she had in her house and on her kindle. So I said why don’t you delete the books you dont want/like from your kindle and give the physical books away/sell them?
Firstly she gasped and then asked if I was a heathen!!!!
So it got me wondering……what do other people do?
For me, I cant see the point in hanging on to a book that I didnt like/love. I think it boils down to space for physical books…..more to dust! Also I’m a little OCD with my Kindle and am worried about space on there so I get rid of the books I don’t like/love.
Don’t get me wrong, I give my loved books a cuddle often and wouldn’t part from them….but due to her reaction I wondered if I’m weird!
So tell me….what do you do?
I pass them on. Either a Free Little Library, friends, or donate them.

I love the idea of a Free Little Library but there are none around where I live….I’ll continue looking in case I’ve missed one!

Keep the ones I love but sell/donate the ones I donโt

I have the ones I don’t like/won’t read in a box waiting to find a chance to drop them off in Goodwill. In Kindle, I delete the hell out of them.

Me too! Sometimes I see if my friends want to do a swap but most of them dont like what I read, they are firmly in the romance genre and the physical books I have are normally YA fantasy….

I keep all the books I have bought and received, whether I liked them or not. My family has many bookworms, so the books that I didnโt really like may end up being someone elseโs all-time-faves.

I wish I had family and friends who loved books, sadly they are very few and far between!!!

Itโs because of my folks that I ended up being this book dragon in the first place! ๐ Also my bf and I have similar tastes in books, which is why our night tables have at least three to four books ๐ (each!)

Well it’s difficult for me as I read in English in a non English speaking country! But ideally I would give the ones I don’t want to reread at libraries. I wonder if the Red Cross would not be interested though as they welcome refugees who maybe read in English?

Its deal worth a try. And such a great cause to donate your books to.โค

I am constantly giving away my books. I usually donate them to a school library that I know of that doesnโt have very many books or a librarian. I tend to only keep the ones that I really liked and think I will reread at some point.

That’s the ones I keep too! I might ask my library if they take donations…thanks for the tip ๐

Oh I definitely delete books on my kindle- otherwise I wouldn’t have room! It’s not like they’re gone forever- if I want to reread them, they’re still in the cloud.

I dread to think of my storage if I kept all mine!!!

I only download the books that I’m reading and then when I feel like I need space, I go through my kindle and return books to the cloud because I can always download them again later. As for physical copies, I’m very picky about what I put on my shelf because I don’t have a lot of space but every once in awhile I’ll go through it and donate a few books to Goodwill!๐
