What are you drinking Wednesday?

It’s the middle of the working week so I thought it would be nice to have a night to kick back with a beverage and talk all things books!

My first question is…..what is your favourite type of book format?

  • Hardback
  • Paperback
  • Ebook
  • Audio book

For me it would be ebook.

I know it’s probably not the popular choice but I find I can read it better, take more in…and plus there is the fact that I don’t have to hold a heavy book (yes I know, I’m lazy!!!)

I read hardback and paperbacks, I buy all my favourite books in this format but only once I’ve read the ebook!!!!

I tried audio twice….I just can’t seem to get on with it. Added to the fact that the price here for an audiobook is like taking out a mortgage!

So tell me….what’s your favourite format?

Top 5 Tuesday – Books I reread!

Top 5 Tuesday is bought to you by Shanah at the Bionic Bookworm – you can find her post and join in here.

Today’s topic is – Books I reread!

After making this list, it stood out to me that I seem to gravitate towards romance reads for rereads….and I dont know why that is!

Golden Dynasty by Kristen Ashley

This book always jumps starts me after a slump (or The Three Series – see below!) Its like it’s my book slump medicine!

Reapers Legacy by Joanna Wylde

An MC read used to be my genre of choice and in that time this book stood out to me and I’ve reread it about 9 times since it came out. I recently reread it for a challenge and it’s still one fabulous read!

Fighting Destiny by Amelia Hutchins

Ryder….sigh! Yes I really am a fictional book boyfriend lover…..and Ryder fits the bill to a tea. So I reread to get my pnr fix and bbf fix!!!

The Three Series by Kristen Ashley

See above about book slumps and this being my medicine!!

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

My favourite book of series….because we get Rhysand in all his glory!!!

What books do you reread?

2 Viking reads….that are worlds apart!

I did chuckle as I thought of this idea for my reviews!

2 Viking reads.

2 worlds apart!

A YA and a hot and heavy romance read!

Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller

Rasmira is a warrior, leaders daughter….with the worst parents ever, I actually hated her mum!

But it all goes wrong for Rasmira and she finds herself wronged, banished and alone.

‘Welcome to the wild.’

I like this book, it was totally readable, it flowed, but I did find it rather long and dragged out in some places.

The world building was odd! If you are expecting the Viking world in this book to be like the actual Viking habitat then you’ll be surprised!

There was a lot I found strange in this book, yes it took some adjusting to what I thought it should be but this is the writers world…..and I liked it!

But I more than liked Soren!

Vikings Claim by Madison Faye

You know sometimes you just need something quick and dirty?

I read the synopsis for this and knew, right in that moment, I needed this!

I’ve just read a Viking YA book and let me tell you they couldn’t be further apart!!!

Oh Tor……

‘Soon, little bird. Soon, I will come for you.

‘I’ll set the world on fire to keep her right here with me.’

Reading, GoT and choices!!!

Welcome to The Weekly Epilogue!

Hope you all had a good week?

I’m still getting over the latest episode of Game of Thrones (I’ve watched it 3 times!) but the best news is that my reading mojo seems to have returned (hallelujah!)

The Gathering by LA Fiore

Cole by Tijan (for the Ultimate Reading Challenge)

Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller

To make my reading life less pressured (!) I’ve got a selection of books to choose from…but which one first?!

  • Legend by Marie Lu
  • The Fever King by Victoria Lee
  • Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
  • Archenemies by Marissa Meyer
  • The Storm Crow by Kalyn Josephson
  • Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

Review: The Gathering (Ivy Blackwood #1) by LA Fiore

I have read this author before but it’s only been romance books….and then Trissy @ Bobos Book Bank posted this (it was a while ago as my tbr pile is bursting at the seams!) and I knew I HAD to read it……no regrets here!!!

Words like unnatural and impure started the whispers.

From the very beginning, Ivy Blackwood was different. She was only a child when she was accused of setting the fire, one she passively watched engulf the small house she had called home. Her fingertips burned and her hair singed. Some who watched her crossed themselves, convinced she was soulless for she showed no emotion at all. Calm and dispassionate, even when the screaming started that quickly turned to bellows of agony before dying into nothing but the roaring of the fire.

She was locked away where she couldn’t bring harm to herself or others. To all involved, they had protected the world from a monster, but sometimes things are not what they seem.

Wow. Wow. Wow!

I must say I was sceptical going into this book but I had no worries whatsoever, it was utter brilliance.

There was detail. And I loved the detail.

I was a bit confused about what was going on in some bits, maybe was a bit disjointed in places but I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know all the details!

It was so spooky, other worldly and I loved the characters and I want more!

Review: Pretty Reckless by LJ Shen…..

Omg this author! She has done it again!

We have had the Hotholes and now it’s the turn of the Totholes!!!!!!

We were supposed to be best friends
But turned out to be worst enemies…

Penn
They say revenge is a dish best served cold.
I’d had four years to stew on what Daria Followhill did to me, and now my heart is completely iced.
I took her first kiss.
She took the only thing I loved.
I was poor.
She was rich.
The good thing about circumstances? They can change. Fast.
Now, I’m her parents’ latest shiny project.
Her housemate. Her tormentor. The captain of the rival football team she hates so much.
Yeah, baby girl, say it—I’m your foster brother.
There’s a price to pay for ruining the only good thing in my life, and she’s about to shell out some serious tears.
Daria Followhill thinks she is THE queen. I’m about to prove to her that she’s nothing but a spoiled princess.

Daria
Everyone loves a good-old, unapologetic punk.
But being a bitch? Oh, you get slammed for every snarky comment, cynical eye roll, and foot you put in your adversaries’ way.
The thing about stiletto heels is that they make a hell of a dent when you walk all over the people who try to hurt you.
In Penn Scully’s case, I pierced his heart until he bled out, then left it in a trash can on a bright summer day.
Four years ago, he asked me to save all of my firsts for him.
Now he lives across the hall, and there’s nothing I want more than to be his last everything.
His parting words when he gave me his heart were that nothing in this world is free.
Now? Now he is making me pay.

Here we go with the next generation of Sinners!

I knew this was going to be fabulous when I read these words…

‘I’m her parents’ latest shiny project. Her housemate. Her tormentor. The captain of the rival football team she hates so much.’

OMG EMOTIONAL! I HUNG ON EVERY BLOODY WORD!

I laughed, I was angry, so angry, I had a lump in my throat but mainly I was overjoyed with the happiness these words bought me!

Do yourself a favour, read this!
