Here we are with the end of the year fast approaching and a time to reflect on the best reads of the year!
We all love books here so wanted to spread the love and post about them!
I did a post halfway through the year which you can see here and these are the rest of the fabulous books I’ve loved this year (not necessarily released then, I read then!)
I’ve read so many great books this 2nd half of the year but these are the ones that really stood out to me:
Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer Wisteria by Adalyn Grace Servant of Earth by Sarah Hawley

Hope you’ve had a good week!
What a week! I didn’t really do much apart from work and I am tired! I’m working on Monday then I have 6 days off so I’m looking forward to that!
We are going to a candlelight carol concert tomorrow, not my sort of thing at all but my Mum wants me to go with her….so I’m going 🤣
I hope you all have a lovely, relaxed, happy Christmas!
What I’ve Read
Plier, Tourner, Sauter, Relever by Jane Washington (rereads) (Am actually obsessed with this series and this is my 3rd reread!)
Glisser by Jane Washington ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Yes, a cover change partway through the series. I’m irked.
I took part in 3 annual reading challenges this year, an audiobook challenge which I have already updated on and also the Goodreads challenge and a Tackle That TBR challenge…..let’s see how I did!
Goodreads
I set my goal to 100 books and I actually met that in November and I’m now up to 117 books read!
Tackle That TBR
Now this one I…….failed (and I hate to say that)!!!
I said I wanted to read 20 from my tbr that I owned before 1 January 2024. I only read 12 – how depressing is that!
Can I make up for it next year? Who knows 🤣
Did you join any challenge for 2024? How did you do?
I think it’s always nice to look back and see that I’ve accomplished something in the year so thought I’d see if I finished any series in 2024!
My provisional goal was to finish 10 – I actually finished 13 (but I did include duologies!)
(Also let’s not talk about how many series that I haven’t finished and also new ones I’ve started this year *incoherent mumbles* )
So here we go……
1) Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber 2) All Souls by Deborah Harkness 3) Crescent City by SJM 4) Green Creek by TJ Klune 5) Twin Crowns by Catherine Doyle/Katherine Webber 6) Zodiac Academy by Caroline Peckham 7) Darkmore Penitentiary by Caroline Peckham 8) Belladonna by Adalyn Grace 9) Throne of Glass (reread) 10) The Sunbearer duology 11) Happyhead duology 12) Stolen Heir duology 13) Letter of Enchantment duology

So this was my week: Monday – work and more work Tuesday – doctors appt and work Wednesday – did some food shopping for Christmas so now I only need to get veg, victory! Thursday – work and more work Friday – an ill son 😫 Saturday – a still ill son (a bad sore throat and fever!)
~ Mood read the whole year. ~ No lists. ~ No timetables. ~ If I am lucky enough to get an arc I will try my best to read it by release day. ~ I will only request an arc if I really want to read it – no pressure
For most of this year I’ve been pressuring myself to read certain books in a month, and because of that, it puts me off reading anything, and I’m slumping more.
I don’t want to fall out of love with reading, and it’s defo heading that way, so I just think if I don’t do something now, it might push me over the edge!
I also need to stop buying so many books! I also need to at least try and read some of my tbr!
