🌸 ENEMIES TO LOVERS 🌸

Fear Me by BB Reid was a mix of me feeling very wrong for liking it and also a sense of excitement for loving it! It also comes with a warning as it contains sensitive themes……..

Blurb:

I don’t believe in fairy tales and Prince Charming.

I believe in fear.

He taught me how to be afraid.

We first met on a playground on a wonderful summer day. It was the first time he hurt me and it wouldn’t be the last. For ten years, he’s been my tormentor and I’ve been his forbidden. But then he went away, and yet I was still afraid.

Now he’s back and wants more than just my tears. You see…he thinks I sent him away so now he wants revenge…and he knows just how to get it.

Warning: Fear Me contains sensitive themes.

🌸 AGE GAP ROMANCE 🌸

There are quite a few I could’ve picked here but one of my faves is by Giana Darling. Welcome to the Dark Side is book 2 in The Fallen Men series and follows 36 year old MC President, Zeus and his love interest, Lou who is 17.

What’s your favourite age gap romance?

🌸 DARK ROMANCE 🌸

I warn you now, this book has some very questionable material in it. It’s dark. Darker than dark.

My review starts off to say that the first 3 chapters ram raided their way into the highest degree of wrongness in my mind. It’s a dark, unconventional love story so be prepared if you are going to read this!

What’s your favourite dark romance?

Love In February 21 Photo Challenge Day 5!

🌸 FLAWED HERO/HEROINE 🌸

So basically Knight is a control freak, egotistical and dare I say it, a bit crazy but totally hawt. Just my kind of man!!!

And also…..*Daddy alert* I warn you now, it’s used in this book but hopefully, like me, you can skip over those parts and enjoy the story!!!

What’s your favourite book with a flawed hero or heroine?

🌸 FORBIDDEN/TABOO ROMANCE 🌸

I am not a person who is easily shocked and I can’t say this book shocked me (in fact I was delighted!!!) but can you imagine this happening in real life?! A priest bumping uglies with a parishioner?!!!

🌸 HEARTBREAKING/UGLY CRY 🌸

There can only be one choice for me here!

I’m not a person who cries. In fact my friends say I’m dead inside 😂 but A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole made me cry. And not just cry. I’m talking big, fat, ugly, wracking sobs and so many tissues.

What books have made you cry?

Hawk and Poppy from Jennifer L Armentrout’s, From Blood and Ash.

I read this in January and was absolutely in love with everything about the book. It’s not often I feel like that!

Of course I jumped straight into book 2, Kingdom of Flesh and Fire and now have the loooooong wait until April for the next installment!

Closing the Chapter: January 2021

Welcome to Closing the Chapter! I hope you had a great reading month?

Well here we are firmly in 2021 and my first reading update of the year!

Everything is still covidy and we are in lockdown (again) so am still working from home and also now homeschooling as schools are closed. It’s…. ummmm, challenging!!!! We also had some snow so we had a day in the garden building snowmen!

I had an ambitious January tbr so I could start the year off with a bang. I participated in the Off The Grid readathon and did a buddy read with the lovely Sophie at Beware of the Reader and Trisy at Bobos Book Bank which was such fun!

I also wanted to tick some books off my Beat the Backlist challenge and I certainly did that with 7 books read and 1 audiobook listened to!
