Beat the Backlist Challenge 2018!!! (My 1st time doing a challenge!!)

BTB2018.png

I know I have said a few times that I really wanted to join a backlist challenge in 2018 so when I saw this I jumped at the chance!

I JOINED NOVELKNIGHT 2018 BEAT THE BACKLIST CHALLENGE!

And it’s the first time I have joined a challenge!

You can read about it (and join) here! #BeatTheBacklist!

What is Beat the Backlist?

In short, this is a reading challenge where your goal is to read backlist books (published prior to the current year). For 2018, it means reading any book that was published in 2017 or earlier. You have the entire year to read as many books as you can/want. YOU set your own reading goal.

My challenge

I have 39 books I want to read for my challenge.  I thought that was quite a realistic number to aim for (and means my TBR will be hardly nothing!) and as it’s only 3 and a bit books a month, I still have the time to read all those lovely new releases!

This is my list:

The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas (6 books)

Three Dark Crowns/One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake (2 books)

This Savage Song/Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab (2 books)

Fireblood/Frostblood by Elly Blake (2 books)

Stalking Jack the Ripper/Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco (2 books)

Nevernight/Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff (2 books)

The Vampire Diaries by Richelle Mead (6 books)

Blackest Gold series by R Scarlett (4books)

Caraval by Stephanie Garber

Cinder by Marissa Meyer

Heartless by Marissa Meyer

Renegades by Marissa Meyer

Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth

Hideaway by Penelope Douglas

Juniper Unraveling by Keri Lake

Falling Fast by Aurora Rose Reynolds

The Midnight Star by Marie Lu

Darkest Temptation by Rachel Van Dyken

Artemis by Andy Weir

I am in team Book Bards (go Book Bards!)

Wish me luck and let me know if you are doing any challenges in 2018!

  1. Good list! I haven’t decided what my challenge for 2018 is going to be yet. I met my reading goal for 2017 already, so I would like to try to top that number next year. Not sure if I’ll add more to it than that.

    1. Good luck 😁

I think I am going to set my Goodreads reading challenge for 75 in total and the books from my tbr are half that so leaves room for the fab new releases that are coming 😁

  2. This is the only challenge I’m joining this year (with my other blog, though). My TBR is over 200… and last year I read about 50 books 😮
Also on team Book Bards, btw 🙂

    1. Hi fellow team member! Thanks for commenting 😁

My tbr is around 80 books but I wasn’t sure I could read them all in 1 year and keep up with new releases!

Good luck with your goal 😁

      1. 80 books really is a lot to read in one year as well 😮 I am probably not going to read many new releases this year (maybe a few from publishers for review).

      2. I understand. Last year I just felt like I was constantly playing catch up so for this year I said less arcs and 1 new release and 1 from my tbr each week maybe. I’ve failed miserably on the less arcs already though 😆
