The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer  It’s a chance to share news, a post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received.

Hope you’ve had a good week?

Back to school for my son this week and a normal week at work for me juggling 2 jobs, can’t wait to fully transition back to 1 role!

It’s my Uncle’s birthday today and we’re all going out to a golf club on a lake to have dinner so this is why I’m posting earlier (I’ll be stuffing my face later!!!)

It’s been a mixed reading week! I literally have 3 books on the go because I can’t seem to settle on one and that’s not like me at all!

Review: Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea by Rachel Thorne

Title: Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea

Series: Times and Tea #1

Author: Rachel Thorne

All Reyna and Kianthe want is to open a bookshop that serves tea. Worn wooden floors, plants on every table, firelight drifting between the rafters… all complemented by love and good company. Thing is, Reyna works as one of the Queen’s private guards, and Kianthe is the most powerful mage in existence. Leaving their lives isn’t so easy.

But after an assassin takes Reyna hostage, she decides she’s thoroughly done risking her life for a self-centered queen. Meanwhile, Kianthe has been waiting for a chance to flee responsibility–all the better that her girlfriend is on board. Together, they settle in Tawney, a town that boasts more dragons than people, and open the shop of their dreams.

What follows is a cozy tale of mishaps, mysteries, and a murderous queen throwing the realm’s biggest temper tantrum. In a story brimming with hurt/comfort and quiet fireside conversations, these two women will discover just what they mean to each other… and the world.

Reyna and Kianthe want to own a bookshop together that serves tea…but there’s a problem… Reyna serves a vicious, unforgiving Queen and Kianthe is the realms mage so it’s hard to get away.

But they fight for their dream and they run to a near forgotten place, Tawney. But also in Tawney are….dragons!

I really enjoyed what I’d call a very sweet fantasy mystery! Reyna and Kianthe were so cute together, feeling out their relationship, themselves and their new life hiding in plain site. I also loved the friends they picked up along the way.

The ending sets up for another book and I can’t wait for it!

The Sunday Post! Slump city!!!

The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer  It’s a chance to share news, a post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received.

Hope you’ve had a good week?

Back to work for me this week but another week off for my son – I was so jealous! I’ve also been offered a permanent position as a project manager so I’m moving from my job I’ve been at for 3 weeks into that again!!!!

I’ve been really slumpy this week, it’s not that I can’t get into any books, it’s that I can’t be bothered to read (or listen) to anything so I pulled out the big guns and did a reread of Throne of Glass!

Review: Bride by Ali Hazelwood

Title: Bride

Author: Ali Hazelwood

A dangerous alliance between a Vampyre bride and an Alpha Werewolf becomes a love deep enough to sink your teeth into in this new paranormal romance.

Misery Lark, the only daughter of the most powerful Vampyre councilman of the Southwest, is an outcast—again. Her days of living in anonymity among the Humans are over: she has been called upon to uphold a historic peacekeeping alliance between the Vampyres and their mortal enemies, the Weres, and she sees little choice but to surrender herself in the exchange—again…

Weres are ruthless and unpredictable, and their Alpha, Lowe Moreland, is no exception. He rules his pack with absolute authority, but not without justice. And, unlike the Vampyre Council, not without feeling. It’s clear from the way he tracks Misery’s every movement that he doesn’t trust her. If only he knew how right he was….

Because Misery has her own reasons to agree to this marriage of convenience, reasons that have nothing to do with politics or alliances, and everything to do with the only thing she’s ever cared about. And she is willing to do whatever it takes to get back what’s hers, even if it means a life alone in Were territory…alone with the wolf.

What happens when a werewolf and a vamp are forced to marry because of an alliance?

Lets find out!

Firstly let me say that I love that this author has slipped into the fantasy world, and she rocked it!

Misery (vamp) and Lowe (werewolf) are forced into a sham marriage but there’s mystery afoot too! Misery’s bestie has gone missing and Lowe might be involved….gasp!

This book held so much but it was all interwoven so well: being the outsider in your own world, family obligations, finding your mate, enemies to lovers, secrets, marriage of convenience, dastardly villains; fabulous!

Misery was my fave ever, normally I get captivated by the male lead but in this book Misery was EVERYTHING, she was so unique!

Although she isnt in the book a whole lot, I also loved Serena, she was v amusing!

I need more in this world. MORE PLEASE! And I am hoping after that ending we’ll get it! I also want more Owen, loved that guy!
