Blogmas! Audiobook Challenge 2024 – a close!

2024 Audiobook Challenge!!

Hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and That’s What I’m Talking About.

#2024AudiobookChallenge

So here we are, nearly at the end of 2024 and time to evaluate whether I hit my audio goal this year!

At the start of the year I said I wanted to listen to 30 audiobooks (My Precious – I had my earbuds surgically implanted) but then I reached that goal in June and increased to 50 – Marathoner (Look Ma No Hands)!!!

So……did I reach 50?!

I DID! WOOHOO!

Here are some of the books I listened to in the last quarter of 2024:

Did you join in? How did you do?

January releases I’ve got my eye on!

Here’s what’s tantalising me that’s releasing in January (that I may have preordered!!)

I did say I was going to be better about book buying in 2025….but I’m not off to a great start!!!!!

 Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros
Carving Shadows into Gold by Brigid Kemmerer
Under Loch and Key by Lana Ferguson
A Sea of Unspoken Things by Adrienne Young

Will you be getting any of these?

Blogmas! Favourite Christmas Films!

Happy Blogmas!!!!

This isn’t books but something else dear to my heart….Christmas films!!

There is nothing like sitting in the dark just with the glow of tree lights watching a Christmas film!

In my house we tend the watch the same films each year because we love them so much! When my son was younger Muppets Christmas Carol and Polar Express were his faves but now he is getting older his tastes have changed (I however still love Muppets Christmas Carol!!)

We have our list of films which are…….

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation

Home Alone and Home Alone 2

Elf (Saaaaaaanta!!!)

And more recently we have found these:

Christmas Chronicles 1 and 2!

Jingle Jangle

What are some of your favourite Christmas films?

Blogmas! Did I read my anticipated 2024 books?

Happy Blogmas!!

At the end of 2023 I posted my most anticipated books for 2024 so thought it would be good to look back and see if I read them (maybe not good for me!)

You can see my post here!

I only actually picked 6 books and not sure why as I *think* I normally go for 10….or maybe I’m getting confused with Top Ten Tuesday! Christmas brain!!!! But anyway…..I’m pleased to say I read 5 – whoop!

I haven’t read Heavenly Tyrant because the release date changed to 24th December! Maybe I’ll add to next year’s list!

Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands by Heather Fawcett ✔️
Crescent City 3 by Sarah J Maas ✔️
Bride by Ali Hazelwood ✔️
The Prisoners Throne by Holly Black✔️
Empire of the Damned by Jay Kristoff✔️
Heavenly Tyrant by Xiran Jay Zhao ❌️

Did you set a list of books you want to read this year? Did you read them?

Blogmas Announcement – 2024!!

I’ve done Blogmas for 6 years running now and have absolutely loved doing it (and reading other peoples posts) so decided to do it again!

I’m hoping this will be a fun series of posts on the blog starting on 2nd December and ending on Christmas Eve!

I know that’s more than 12 days………..

I’ve seen most bloggers participate in Blogmas and post on consecutive days but I didn’t want to pressure myself that much over the Christmas lead up so I’ll be posting Blogmas posts every other day. I won’t be posting any book reviews (sorry in advance for when I post them all in January!!)

Anyway, the prompts I’ll be using for Blogmas are:

HAPPY BLOGMAS!

The Sunday Post! The tree is up….sort of!

Hope you’ve had a good week!

Happy December!!!! My son had an inset day and I had the day off work on Friday so we couldn’t resist any longer…..we went to a Christmas display and put up our Christmas tree…..sort of! We have a new tree so I ordered new baubles for it and they didn’t arrive so the tree is stood there just with lights and 6 very sad tree chocolates!!!!!

I also went on my first Christmas meal and it was lovely albeit a bit spicy, the dessert was beautiful though!

It was also a great reading week – may it continue!
