Here are the books I got in the last 2 week’s and you can see my first lot here.

TBR Thursday….have you read King Hall by Scarlett Dawn?

TBR Thursday is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly Faye Reads, where you post a title from your shelf or e-reader and find out what others think about it.

My pick this week is King Hall by Scarlett Dawn.

A few of my book friends raved about this series so of course I had to buy the first book! Its billed as a fresh, meaty, sink-your-teeth-in-and-hold-on tight NA fantasy!  Now that’s a great description!!

King Hall — where the Mysticals go to learn their craft, get their degrees, and transition into adulthood. And where four new Rulers will rise and meet their destinies.

Lily Ruckler is adept at one thing: survival. Born a Mystical hybrid, her mere existence is forbidden, but her nightmare is only about to start. Fluke, happenstance, and a deep personal loss finds Lily deeply entrenched with those who would destroy her simply for existing — The Mystical Kings. Being named future Queen of the Shifters shoves Lily into the spotlight, making her one of the most visible Mysticals in the world. But with risk comes a certain solace — her burgeoning friendships with the other three Prodigies: a wicked Vampire, a wild-child Mage, and a playboy Elemental. Backed by their faith and trust, Lily begins to relax into her new life.

Then chaos erupts as the fragile peace between Commoners and Mysticals is broken, and suddenly Lily realises the greatest threat was never from within, and her fear takes on a new name: the revolution.

Have you read this book? What did you think of it?

Review: Darkness Embraced by Tillie Cole

If you love a dark, gritty MC Romance, then this series is for you! I’ve devoured every book as soon as it’s come out and, luckily received an arc this time!

Title: Darkness Embraced

Series: Hades Hangmen #7

Author: Tillie Cole

THE DEEPEST LOVE CAN BE BORN FROM THE FIERCEST HATE…⁣

⁣Born to sit on opposing thrones.⁣

They were never meant to fall.⁣

⁣Tanner Ayers is the heir of the Texas Ku Klux Klan. Fed nothing but hate, violence, and intolerance from the day he was born, Tanner kills for his cause without remorse.⁣

Until he meets Adelita Quintana, the daughter of the most brutal cartel boss in Mexico.⁣

⁣Adelita and Tanner hate each other instantly. But there is something between them that neither can explain or deny. Hate turns to desire, desire turns to love, and for the first time Tanner sees how wrong his whole life has been.⁣

⁣For years, Tanner does everything he can to find a way for him and Adelita. He walks away from the Klan, his family, everything he ever believed, and joins the Hades Hangmen. But now the Hangmen are at war—not only with his own family, but with Adelita’s too.⁣

⁣When Adelita and Tanner are thrown together again, they are forced to fight for a love that should never have been. For a love that puts them and everyone they have ever loved in danger.⁣

⁣The White Prince.⁣

The cartel princess.⁣

And a future that seems shrouded in darkness…⁣

Adelita, princesa of the Mexican cartel and Tanner, Prince of the KKK.

But this isn’t your normal fairy tale, every Prince Charming is different is he not?

And it goes off. Like totally off!

The revelations had my jaw hanging! I must admit, the first half of this book, I wasn’t that excited. But OMG I soon got excited! It’s an intense, hate filled and dark (do you see what they have to put up with!) story that will blow your mind!

Review: The Boys of Brayshaw High by Meagan Brandy

Title: The Boys of Brayshaw High #1

Author: Meagan Brandy

Oh this looked delish….I needed it….So I begged for an arc and my pleas paid off!

“Girls like you aren’t exactly welcomed at a place like this, so keep your head down and look the other way.”

Those were the exact words of my social worker when she dropped me in my newest hellhole, a place for “troubled teens”.

I didn’t listen, and now I’m on their radar.

They expect me to play along in their games of hierarchy, to fall in line in the social order they’ve deemed me fit.

Too bad for them, I don’t follow rules.

Too bad for me, they’re determined to make sure I do.

Inconceivably attractive and treated like kings…these are the boys of Brayshaw High.

And I’m the girl who got in their way.

That cover and that blurb! That’s what drew me in………

Then the story. Omg the story!

Then the lead characters. Omg the characters……

• Maddoc was HAWT *insert eggplant emoji here* and I need him (between my thighs!)

• Royce was so tasty I wanted to eat him like a snack!

• Captain was, oh my god, I don’t even know how to explain it……he was the one that owned my heart.

• Raven was so genuine, I loved her.

All together you have 4 troubled teens with a whole lot of problems and issues but show that family isn’t always blood. Friends are the family we choose.

It was such a fab read I could’ve cried! It was just what I needed!

It was fabulous.

It was filled with chemistry.

It was so angsty I wanted to die.

And the ending nearly killed me.

I want to be a Bray Girl (even though I’m probably 20 years too old!)
