Beach, swimming and reading…..my week!

Welcome to The Weekly Epilogue!

Hope you all had a good week?

I had a lovely week at the beach, it was so hot that it was a week of lazing about, diving in the sea/pool and READING!!!! I was disappointed that I had to come home to normality!

My apologies as I didnt get a chance to blog hop, read posts or hardly reply to any comments mainly due to the fact that there was no signal!!!

For my holiday reads I decided I wanted rereads and the Rock Chicks came to mind……

The prompts for each month are:

June – New to You Author

Aurora Rising by Jay Kristoff

You can see my review here.

July – Movie Adaptation

Harry Potter and the Philisophers Stone

Ok. I could not let a challenge pass by and not include Harry Potter! And it gives me an excuse to read again for the 466456535 time!

You can see my review here.

I must admit I am not looking forward to August….tear-jerker!!

Wishlist Wednesday….see what’s on mine!!

I can’t remember where I saw this post so I’m sorry if I haven’t credited you (let me know and I’ll add on!!)

I saw a post for Wishlist Wednesday and it had books that were coming up for release in the next month but I decided to change this up a bit for me.

In July I’ll be showing books that are on my Amazon wish list.

This book hasn’t been on my wish list for very long, but its something I need very much!

I want need anything that is Harry Potter…and its something my son and I can read together (which I love!)

Its not out until August.  I didn’t pre-order, I hate pre-ordering as I cannot be trusted not to pre-order ALL the books!

Have you read any of the new books?

Will you be getting this?

Top 5 Tuesday: P to T…vampires, rock chicks and cavemen!!!!

Top 5 Tuesday is brought to you by Shanah at the Bionic Bookworm – you can find her July topic post here.

The July Theme…….

The themed topics in July are books that start with a letter of the alphabet that I’ve read!!! I’ve gone through all my books I’ve read and tried to find some books that maybe I dont choose for these types of challenges/tags typically…….so……

P to T

Paper Princess by Erin Watt

I read this many moons ago and I was infatuated! Sadly I didnt really like the rest of the series 😭

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas

Oh come on, I had to sneak a Maas book in here somewhere…and what better than this belter!

Rock Chick by Kristen Ashley

This series is just everything. Everything I tell you! And so fun! It is my (imagined!) soundtrack to my life!

Sweetwater by Rivi Jacks

You know when you pick up a book that someone has recommended and you really dont know if it’s your cup of tea? Well I was like this with this book. I was literally obsessed with it and stalled the author for months looking for a release date for book 2!!!

Transcendence by Shay Savage

A caveman romance? Say whaaaaat? But this was it. And I’m not ashamed to say that it was such a great read, and just so unimaginably sweet!

Have you read any of these?

Review: Lies by Kylie Scott

I literally love this author and I am honoured to be on her review team. This book is a different step for the author but still filled with the great humour I’ve come to expect!

Title: Lies

Author: Kylie Scott

Betty Dawsey knows that breaking things off with Thom Lange is for the best. He’s nice, but boring, and their relationship has lost its spark. But steady and predictable Thom, suddenly doesn’t seem so steady and predictable when their condo explodes and she’s kidnapped by a couple of crazies claiming that Thom isn’t who he says he is.

Thom is having a hellish week. Not only is he hunting a double agent, but his fiancé dumped him, and thanks to his undercover life, she’s been kidnapped.

Turns out Thom is Operative Thom and he’s got more than a few secrets to share with Betty if he’s going to keep her alive. With both their lives on the line, their lackluster connection is suddenly replaced by an intense one. But in his line of work, feelings aren’t wanted or desired. Because feelings can be a lethal distraction.

‘It turns out that being in a relationship with the wrong person can be even lonelier.’

Never a truer word spoken Betty, I thought to myself when she finds herself with a fiancee who is basically emotionally detached……..and then her world explodes….literally……
This was such a fun read! A lot of action, drama, secrets and an epic flop of a relationship that does a quick 360!
Betty is hilarious and it was great seeing confident (almost robotic!) Thom struggle with his emotions! But I loved him……
‘I don’t think anyone’s undressed me since I was a child.
I undress you constantly in my mind, if that counts.’

Holidays, books and migraines!!!!

Welcome to The Weekly Epilogue!

Hope you all had a good week?

I’M GOING ON HOLIDAY TOMORROW!

I cannot wait, swimming, fun, excitement and just a different setting (unforts no rest as I have kids!)

You will have to forgive me for my short update this week but I’m on day 3 of a horrible migraine which I am hoping goes before tomorrow as I’m the driver!

Also forgive me if I’m not that active this week as there is no wifi or signal where we are going so I’ll need to catch up when I get back! Have a great week everyone!

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

You know when a book you have read is calling you for a reread? Well this series is doing that to me so I’m starting on book 2 (didn’t fancy the first one!!)

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black
