Oh this was exquisite! You know that feeling when you know you LOVE a book. Not just enjoy it but LOVE it. That’s what I got here!

Kenna is a human who gets pulled into the Fae underground world of Mistei and finds herself a servant looking after the Earth Princess, Lara.

Mistei is split into the houses of Fire, Earth, Light, Void, Illusion and Blood and
ruled by the horrible, violent, King Osric. 

I won’t say anything about the plot apart from there’s trials, betrayals, it’s dark, violent and full of cutthroat fae, magic and some lovely spice!

The world building and the description of Mistei and all its secrets was written so well, it’s like I was there!

Loved Kenna but my utter fave was the Void Prince, Kellan…..yes, it’s true. Me liking the shadowy enemy! 

Ps…need book 2 please…..ASAP!

Hope you’ve had a good week!

Back to work after a week off, and my son went back to school. It was also Firework Night, and we celebrated with sparklers and wands in the garden and had sausage casserole (my oven broke, so we couldn’t have our normal hotdogs!)

I felt under the weather again until Wednesday so only read 1 book…..but it was a great one!

Antonio entrusts Luzia’s training to Santangel, an immortal……and sparks fly!

It was dark, there was magic, and it gave overall a solemn tone.

I must admit I enjoyed the 2nd half more than the first but the historical fantasy with added romance story was spot on. (3.5)

Back in the same world as Zodiac Academy and Reckless Boys…..but a different land and school!

Vesper and Everest are both outcasts but oh so different, and they are strong, determined ladies, it’s no wonder they find themselves drawn together.

I really don’t want to say more but if you loved ZA then you will love this darker feeling romantasy!

This was a slow starter but I guess we needed to get to know the new world, the characters and the different places in The Waning Lands.

But my gosh, after that halfway mark, I was so hooked, so much tension!

I actually can’t believe I have to wait until April 2025 now after that ending!

From Wikipedia: Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Guy Fawkes Day, Bonfire Night and Firework Night, is an annual commemoration observed on 5 November, primarily in Great Britain. Its history begins with the events of 5 November 1605, when Guy Fawkes, a member of the Gunpowder Plot, was arrested while guarding explosives the plotters had placed beneath the House of Lords. Celebrating the fact that King James I had survived the attempt on his life, people lit bonfires around London; and months later, the introduction of the Observance of 5th November Act enforced an annual public day of thanksgiving for the plot’s failure.
