BLURB

One king caged my body.

Another has caged my mind.

War has broken out between Annwyn and Orea, though that’s not the only battle being waged.

There’s a fight inside me, and it’s one I’m determined to win, no matter how much they try to strip me down and hollow me out.

Yet they’ve forgotten one thing. The ancient magic of the pair bond. One can never truly be lost when two souls are already bound.

Because Slade and I? We are connected by more than just fated magic, and we will always find each other.

In any life.

The fae king is trying to destroy me. My heritage. My memory. But what he hasn’t realized is this: gold bends, but stone breaks.

And a Goldfinch does not fall.

It flies.

‘And a Goldfinch does not fall. It flies.’

The conclusion! It feels like I’ve been reading this series forever, and now we’re at the end!

All looks bleak for Auren. She was captured and basically had her memories wiped, but Slade is back with his promise that he will do anything, and I mean anything, for Auren, his other half. And he has an addition (which I absolutely loved!)

I really quite enjoyed this book, but there was one moment that ripped my heart out, I could’ve actually cried.

I also think Queen Malina deserved more than the ending she got. Yes, she was vile in the start but she grew, oh how she grew….and she found love in the unlikliest of places. I would’ve preferred Malina’s ending for Kaila really!

I think, for me, the side characters made books 3 to 6 for me…and on that note….please tell me that Ryatt is getting a book? I need it.

Title: Sorcery and Small Magics

Series: The Wildersongs #1

Author: Maiga Doocy

BLURB

Leovander Loveage is a master of small magics.

He can summon butterflies with a song, or turn someone’s hair pink by snapping his fingers. Such minor charms don’t earn him much admiration from other sorcerers (or his father), but anything more elaborate always blows up in his face. Which is why Leo vowed years ago to never again write powerful magic.

That is, until a mix-up involving a forbidden spell binds Leo to obey the commands of his longtime nemesis, Sebastian Grimm. Grimm is Leo’s complete opposite—respected, exceptionally talented, and an absolutely insufferable curmudgeon. The only thing they agree on is that getting caught using forbidden magic would mean the end of their careers. They need a counterspell, and fast. But Grimm casts spells, he doesn’t undo them, and Leo doesn’t mess with powerful magic.

Chasing rumors of a powerful sorcerer with a knack for undoing curses, Leo and Grimm enter the Unquiet Wood, a forest infested with murderous monsters and dangerous outlaws alike. To dissolve the curse, they’ll have to uncover the true depths of Leo’s magic, set aside their long-standing rivalry, and—much to their horror—work together.

Even as an odd spark of attraction flares between them.

Oh I loved this book! It’s one of the best grumpy/sunshine I’ve read!

Leo only does small magics and not grand magics as it tends to go wrong! After a pile of papers go shooting up in the air, Leo finds himself with a curse which links him to someone he really doesn’t get on with….Sebastian Grimm.

After some side effects, they go off in search of someone who can break the curse.

I adored Leo with every fibre of my being! And I also found myself feeling the same for Grimm!

If you enjoy books with magic, banter, self discovery, very slow burn romance and just feels like a comfy pair of shoes…then this book is for you!

I listened to the audio and I devoured it! It’s was so good that I’m really hoping the next book is out soon!
