I’m not quite sure why I didn’t read this sooner – it came as a recommendation and I had it on my tbr for a while – and now I could kick myself for not reading the goodness sooner!
Has anyone read?
Love?
The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black
CJR THE BRIT REVIEW
I have come to realise one of the greatest feelings. Someone recommends a book they loved, like were enchanted with so you give it a go. And then from the first chapter you get so pulled in and you are just as enchanted. It makes me all warm inside!
Anyway, I digress…..set in modern day, the town of Fairfold has always had humans and fae folk living side by side.
Siblings, Hazel and Ben are 2 of the inhabitants. Grown up with basically just each other, inventing their own world. Hazel wants to be a knight and Ben just wants to be loved.
Then cue the weird stuff and worlds intertwine. As I read on my jaw was dropping at various places. What? When? Who? What is going on here?
The characters were amazing. Ben, Jack and Severin stole my heart from the moment I met them. Jack probably more, he was one fab guy! Hazel I can’t quite place my feelings for her. She was selfless, truly brave and loved the lip action!!!!
This was a fantastic read. The world building (I wanted to live there!), the characters, and the whole thing sewn up in 1 book.
YAY! 🎉 I love these kinds of books, the ones that just grab your imagination!!💕😁

You’re welcome! 😁 The only other book by her I’ve read is Coldest Girl in Cold Town and I really enjoyed it 😁 (which is surprising cos I don’t normally read vampire books anymore)
