I was dying the dive into this  beauty so I did!  I had heard all the mixed reviews and wanted to see for myself……..so I did!

Special thanks to Nina at The Cozy Pages who reminded me I hadn’t posted this review – you should check out her blog, its fab!

I won’t post the blurb as I am sure you have all read it (but if you want to you can here)

Remember, it’s only a game…
Welcome, welcome to Caraval…beware of getting swept too far away.

CJR THE BRIT REVIEW

I did something with this book that I never do. I normally buy the e-book and if I love it, I get a physical copy but with this I bought the paperback before I had read……my expectations were high!

I was thrown into Scarlett’s world with her horrid father and wild sister with an invitation to Caraval. With the help of a passing sailor, Julian, they venture through the gates where nothing is as it seems…..

World of the strange is the only way I can describe it. What was real? What wasn’t? I had so many questions, needed so many answers! What the heck was going on? All I knew what was that I was rooting for Scarlett and Julian!…

‘Not quite sure how far she’d already fallen, she imagined loving him would feel like falling in love with darkness, frightening and consuming yet utterly beautiful when the stars came out.’

Yes there was romance in a very chaste way and I loved it! There was also mind games, a great story, great characters and an ending that made me gasp!

Have you read Caraval?

What did you think?
