The Brits Weekly Book Biz: 1-7 January (I was on fire this week!)

Here we are in the first week of a new year. I went back to work on Tuesday so that was a major downer!

I was on fire with reading though, staying in for New Years Eve and Day really paid off! It feels so good to see my tbr coming down!

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by JK Rowling

I really fancied a reread so I did! (like I don’t have a trillion books on my tbr!) To my shame I discovered that I have never written a review for it. Situation is fixed now and you can read my mini review here.

Falling Fast by Aurora Rose Reynolds

A shortie but a great shortie! (From my Beat the Backlist challenge list!) See my review here.

Darkest Temptation by Rachel Van Dyken

I wasn’t sure about this, the same as I wasn’t that sure about the other books in the series. (From my Beat the Backlist challenge list!)  See my review here.

The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert

An arc read. I really liked this, it was dark and thrilling.

See my review here.

So I have been naughty – I said I would buy 2 books in January and in the first week 1 got 3!!

I don’t think I will get anywhere near the 4 books I read this week but I defo want to read a book from my Beat the Backlist challenge so think I will go for Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco and also, if I have time, The Hook Up by Kristen Ashley.

  1. I read the last quarter of ‘The Wolves of the Calla’ by Stephen King and then ‘The Night Circus’ by Erin Morgenstern. Unfortunately after that I got a really bad back, so I decided to listen to the audio book of ‘Jane Eyre’ by Charlotte Bronte
