I read another book off my TBR pile!
*sings in happy 70’s voice* ‘Congratulations and celebrations. I want the world to know I’m as happy as can be’……..shout out to my Mum’s record collection!
Sorry, not quite sure what came over me there……anyway….
Black Bird of the Gallows by Meg Kassel….
A simple but forgotten truth: Where harbingers of death appear, the morgues will soon be full.
Angie Dovage can tell there’s more to Reece Fernandez than just the tall, brooding athlete who has her classmates swooning, but she can’t imagine his presence signals a tragedy that will devastate her small town. When something supernatural tries to attack her, Angie is thrown into a battle between good and evil she never saw coming. Right in the center of it is Reece—and he’s not human.
What’s more, she knows something most don’t. That the secrets her town holds could kill them all. But that’s only half as dangerous as falling in love with a harbinger of death.
CJR THE BRIT REVIEW
The new boy moves in next door and gives an ominous warning to Angie, ‘stay away from the bees.’ I was like whaaaaaat?
Then a strange man asks ‘ He: scavenger, cleaner of bones, a black bird of the Gallows. He watches you. Why?’ My head is spinning at this point. What could be going on?
Harbringer of death in the form of a school boy……and it can only mean a lot of issues are afoot.
Was a quick read and I loved that the premise was unique although I found the pacing a bit slow.
Sounds interesting!
